First page of 'Dead Sight' by Zach Acherman. We see two figures, a man and a woman, each ona horse, rifing through the desert until they arrive at a church that looks abandoned. They enter. The narration, from the point of view of the man, reads: 'It's been 3 days since the vanburen gang has been on our tail. Rescuing Kate from those sick bastards ain't been easy. I did terrible things or that gang. But maybe this will make up for some of it. The gang abducted Kate. Locals claimed she could read minds; the secrets she knew were things people kept close to their hearts.'
